2025 Travel Plans: New Year, New Adventures with AdventGo!

A woman of African descent carefully reviewing her travel itinerary, excited for upcoming adventures and destinations.

Each year ... the phrase "New year, new me" spreads like crazy across social media, with everyone striving to better themselves—whether it’s financially, physically, mentally, or spiritually. The new year inspires us all to reflect on the past and strategize for a brighter future. We at AdventGo are no different.

2025 marks our pilot year, and we’ve planned, agonized, and prayed on how best to bring this new season into full swing. This blog is one of those avenues where we hope you’ll get to know us better. Being able to provide travel services has truly been a dream come true, and I’m excited to share my upcoming travel plans for 2025.

In addition to my personal explorations, we’ve curated some trips that will help provide better insights into our services as travel agents. We want our clients (and potential clients) to see through our eyes the possibilities for their own travel adventures. As we embark on this journey, we will connect with new destinations and experiences that will deepen our understanding of what’s available, helping us guide you toward your best travel experiences. I hope this sneak peek into my travel calendar sparks your wanderlust and inspires ideas for your next getaway!

A Weekend Getaway at Sea

To start off our travel plans, this spring, we’ll set sail on a weekend cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas. This ship is part of the Freedom class, which, while smaller than the Oasis class ships, still feels impressively large. Freedom-class ships offer amazing amenities and are perfect for those looking to try cruising for the first time. My first cruise was on Freedom of the Seas, which was a great choice for my husband and I, especially since I was quite nervous. We cruised right after the pandemic, and while I was concerned about getting sick, my fear of motion sickness was also a factor. Thankfully, everything turned out to be amazing, and now I’m hooked on cruising. While I’m still a land girl at heart, I’ve definitely developed a bit of sea lust.

One important lesson I’ve learned from my past cruises is to stay close to the port the night before. Though I live less than 5 hours from all of the Florida’s ports, the tension and panic of dealing with traffic and the fear of missing the ship due to possible freak accidents have always been overwhelming. I’ve driven on the day of for two cruises, and it’s clear that, even though I'm in vacation mode, everyone else is still dealing with daily commutes. As someone who works from home, I’ve completely forgotten how to account for traffic! On my last cruise, we stayed overnight at a hotel, and the anxiety dropped by about 90%. While traffic is still a thing, driving 5 miles to the port is far easier than driving 200+ miles.

With that said, I’ll be spending a couple of nights at the Cambria Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport South and Cruise Port. I’ve never explored Fort Lauderdale, so I’m excited to check out the shopping and dining options. Who knows? We might even find a fun activity or two. This trip will be the perfect mix of relaxation and excitement, as I explore the ship’s incredible amenities and enjoy sun-soaked ocean views. I'll be sharing tips on how to pack for a short cruise, navigate embarkation, and maximize every moment of a weekend getaway.

A breathtaking aerial view of Niagara Falls, showcasing the powerful cascade of water on both the American and Canadian sides.

A Scenic Escape to Niagara Falls and Ontario

Next up, we’ll head north in the summer to explore Niagara Falls, taking in both the American and Canadian sides. There’s so much to do, as both sides offer a boatload (😜) of activities. To avoid the crowds, we’ll be traveling during the weekdays. However, being that is summer, there will still be plenty of travelers vying for prime activities and photo opportunities.

We’ll be staying at the Cambria Hotel Niagara Falls, ideally located just 2,700 feet from the falls and 0.7 miles from the Rainbow Bridge. The hotel is on the American side in Buffalo, NY, but the Rainbow Bridge makes Ontario just a hop, skip, and jump away.

The itinerary is still being finalized, as this is a land trip with a lot of flexibility. There’s so much to consider, from nature trails to the vibrant city life. Whether we’re taking a boat tour to see the falls, walking the scenic paths, or sampling the local culinary delights, this trip will be filled with discovery. I’ll be sharing tips on planning a seamless semi-international trip, navigating the area’s attractions, and making the most of this picturesque destination.

The skyline of Tokyo with the majestic Mount Fuji in the distance, capturing the perfect blend of modern city life and natural beauty.

A Bucket-List Journey to Japan

Our final stop for the year will take us to Japan in the fall. This is a perfect time to visit, as it allows us to avoid the peak tourist season while still enjoying beautiful scenery and pleasant weather. This trip is particularly special because it’s not only a personal bucket-list item for me but also a celebration of milestones. My husband and I will be marking our 6th wedding anniversary. We’ve promised each other to travel and experience something new every anniversary, and this year, Japan is our destination.

We’ve spent months crafting an itinerary that begins in Los Angeles. Though the focus is on Japan, I’m excited for a small taste of LA before we fly to Tokyo. From the bustling cityscapes of Tokyo, we’ll journey to the serene beauty of Kyoto and Osaka. We’ve also planned day trips to Mount Fuji, Nara, and Kobe.

We’ll be staying at the following hotels during our time in Los Angeles and Japan:

  • Cambria Hotel LAX (Los Angeles)

  • Comfort Hotel Tokyo Bay (Tokyo)

  • Comfort Hotel Higashi-Kanda (Tokyo)

  • Comfort Hotel Kyoto Horikawa Gojo (Kyoto)

  • Comfort Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi (Osaka)

Highlights of our trip include exploring Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, immersing ourselves in the cultural wonders of Kyoto’s temples, savoring Osaka’s culinary delights, and marveling at the natural beauty of Mount Fuji. I’ll also be sharing tips on navigating Japan’s efficient transportation system, budgeting for a long trip, and embracing Japanese culture.

What’s Next?

With these exciting trips on the horizon, 2025 promises to be a year of adventure and inspiration. Over the coming months, I’ll dive deeper into each of these journeys, sharing detailed posts on planning, budgeting, must-see spots, and my personal experiences. So stay tuned! I’ll be dropping new posts every other Saturday at 8pm.
